What is lip blush?
Lip blush, also known as semi-permanent lip colour or lip micropigmentation, uses a fine needle to deposit pigment into the upper layers of the lip skin. The result is a natural-looking wash of colour that defines the lip border, evens out any discolouration, and creates the appearance of fuller, more youthful lips. It is not the heavy, drawn-on look of traditional lip tattooing — the finish is soft, sheer and completely customisable to your skin tone and personal style.
What to expect at your appointment
Your lip blush appointment at Inked Beauty Lab begins with a full consultation. We will discuss your desired colour, shape and finish, and select a pigment that perfectly complements your skin tone. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure begins, so most clients find the treatment very comfortable. The full appointment takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. A follow-up touch-up session is required 6 to 8 weeks later to perfect the colour and ensure even, long-lasting results.
How long does lip blush last?
Lip blush typically lasts between 2 and 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and how well you follow the aftercare advice. Factors such as sun exposure, oily skin and certain skincare products can cause the colour to fade more quickly. Annual or bi-annual colour refresh appointments are recommended to maintain the vibrancy of your results.

Lip blush aftercare
After your lip blush treatment, your lips will appear darker and more intense for the first few days — this is completely normal and part of the healing process. The colour will soften and settle over 4 to 6 weeks to reveal your true healed result. During healing, keep the area clean and dry, avoid picking or peeling any flaking skin, stay out of direct sunlight, and avoid swimming, saunas and heavy exercise for at least one week.
